Patients receiving endodontic therapy may experience pain and inflammation after treatment. Cryotherapy could be a remedial method broadly utilized within the field of medicine and dentistry, considered successful at lessening edema, swelling, pain, and irritation. In endodontics, it is relatively modern and may be advantageous in the prevention and treatment of postoperative pain. Additionally, cryogenic treatment is considered a key factor in reinforcing nickel–titanium rotary endodontic files. Further carefully planned clinical trials must be carried out to ascertain the effective use of cryotherapy in the management of postendodontic pain in clinical practice. This article depicts the concept of cryotherapy and its potential clinical applications in endodontics.
