Abstract

Abstract Immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) is an autoimmune disorder that results in the destruction of platelets, leading to thrombocytopenia. Managing patients with ITP who require surgery poses significant challenges due to the increased risk of hemorrhage. This case report presents the perioperative management of a patient with ITP who underwent surgery for an odontogenic cyst in the mandible, focusing on the collaborative and strategic planning necessary to minimize bleeding risks. By sharing this case, we contribute to the limited literature on managing bleeding risks during oral surgery in patients with ITP.
