Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) is a group of hereditary connective tissue disorders. Most clinicians are aware of the orthopedic problems resulting from joint laxity in EDS. Perhaps less well recognized are the audiologic and vestibular manifestations of EDS, and indeed these have received comparatively little attention in the literature. Here we review the multiple mechanisms by which EDS can contribute to disorders of hearing and balance. We conclude with suggestions for workup and management of these problems.
