Abstract

Summary: In this retrospective cohort study of 13,087 patients, those who participated in diabetes self-management education and support (DSMES) experienced a 1.03% (11 mmol/mol) adjusted decline in HbA1c over 24 months, which was 0.19% (2 mmol/mol) greater than the adjusted reduction observed in non-participants. This supports DSMES as an effective intervention.
