INTRODUCTION: Bereavement is one of the most difficult experiences for children and adolescents. Numerous sources in scientific and practical literature point to the need for extensive support for children and adolescents experiencing loss. The purpose of this study is to present the system of support for children and adolescents following the death of significant persons within the framework of counseling, as well as within various environments, including family, school, and church institutions in Poland. METHODS: A content analysis was carried out on the published scientific sources, popular science articles, websites, cartoons, and other sources. RESULTS: The data obtained facilitated the bereavement support as available and offered to children and adolescents to be classified into the categories of family, church community, psychological and therapeutic assistance, as well as the cultural context and funeral ceremonies. CONCLUSIONS: Interesting results are presented, warranting the conclusion that the care and support for children and adolescents in bereavement is available in Poland in various dimensions and domains.
